Nominate the top vendor blogs

When we first started to maintain a list of "Top Blogs" it was an arbitrary list with essentially 5 people picking our favorite blogs. Well... the Storage Monkeys community is big enough now that it is time to let the group select the top 10 blogs... and we'll kick it off with Vendor Blogs first. So please... begin nominating by leaving a comment so we can build a list which to have people vote...

I was going to nominate the anarchist, this place wouldn't be the same without the occasional smack-up - and lets face it, Mr Burke is usually involved in most of them smilies/tongue.gif

I'll nominate our HP StorageWorks blog (www.hp.com/storage/blog). While it's a bit self-serving, it is a team blog so I'm not the only one who writes on it.

Maybe you should have added a rule - no self nominating, or maybe, vendors can't just list all their blogs... there are over 500 on developerworks... lol... would avoid the risk of anyone taking the piss... ^^^ smilies/grin.gif

Gratifying to be mentioned twice in these comments -- without the need to shamelessly self-promote!

Hopefully, vendor-written blogs will gradually improve over time, and we can aspire to a broader industry discussion.

Or maybe not!

P.S. I'm proud to be a Storage Monkey!

It's an honor to see Carter George and Online Storage Optimization, the Ocarina blog on the list here among these well-established titans in storage blogging. May the best blog win--or at least the most popular kid in the class. smilies/wink.gif

Dare I suggest

Having only 10 slots for the top 10 vendor blogs, with a few vendors having 5-10 different bloggers, why not enable more vendor blogs to have visibility by linking to a higher level community page on the vendors' website. For example, EMC has a landing page for their blogs (http://www.emc.com/community/index.htm) and so does NetApp (http://www.netapp.com/us/commu...blogs.html). Instead of taking 8 or 9 of the spots with two vendors that are a small part of the overall storage blogging world, use their landing page to point to all of their collective bloggers so that more of the other vendors are visible.

Just a thought....
