I was an IT Director for the past 12 years before joining Dell. The main reason I came was because of my experience with the Equallogic product before Dell bought them. I had used some other storage in the past and was amazed at how much easier EQL was. I have no problem explaining more about the product and explaining what I have learned about other storage platforms. Maybe this will help you decide on what is best for you.
I also can offer up some perfmon collection so you can see if you are a good candidate for fibre or if you can save a ton of $ and go with iSCSI. Do not discount this protocal. I am seeing huge benefits and performance from it.
Feel free to ask me any questions. Yes I work at Dell but, I will help answer questions to better educate you on storage in general.

You need a little more detail about how you will be using the storage, applications, etc.

What more do you need to know? written by Dave Treamer,

The current implementation will be to replace a CX3-40 in a secondary DC. For now the only thing that will be on the disk is VMWare, SQL (Test / DR) and Exchange (Test / DR). By next year, we will want to add CIFS, replication, etc... as well as expand capacity.

For storage requirement gathering, I would want to know what the capacity of your existing and new box is/will be, and any raid requirements.
